School

We've had a great start to our new year and have a few goals that we are going to do. I'm sure everyone will agree that keeping goals is easy to do in January and progressively harder throughout the year. So we are going to keep goals for FHE this year, meaning that each Monday night we will evaluate how we did on our goals for the week. I'm hoping this will keep the fire of goal keeping alive. I've had a goal for awhile to start teaching Gavin little things. Today we started what he calls "chool". My neighbor gave me a great chalk board and so today we used it for our first lesson. I found some great websites for pre "pre" school. Here's the one I'll be taking my ideas from: http://pammshouse.com/Weekly_Lesson_Plans__Age_2.pdf
I liked that it had a Christian theme to it because I really wanted to incorporate the Gospel more into our daily lives. But I also really liked these other websites too. It was nice to get ideas of where to start Gavin, I wanted to make sure things would be at a good level for him.
I was glad that Gavin had a great time today because I was so excited to start teaching again and to use my degree to teach my children. Here's a picture of him having snack time with his Rabbit. He even made sure that Rabbit had milk and crackers. He's getting so big and so fun to have around. I can't believe he's going to be 3 soon.

He is so cute! what a great idea. I wish we lived closer so we could trade off doing "pre-school" a couple times a week at each other's home.

Hey lady, it's been forever since we saw you in church. We actually saw your hubby on black friday.

Anyhow that is such a great idea to put your talent to work. I hope I remember to do that!

I don't know Tabitha, but I'd LOVE LOVE to see them, with you guys and all of your cutie pie children!! Awesome that you're onto the "teaching train" = It's so fun to teach them something for the first time. The last couple days have been how to use lock blocks! So funny to see the excitement and frustration of a two yr old learning the basics of life, eh? haha

Thanks Jess! I'm so excited to get this going and that Gavin is excited everytime I tell him it's time for "school". I love that he is learning so much and that I'm the one doing it. Thanks for sharing I the excitement!
