My Mom-day 4 & 5

Sorry to miss posting yesterday, I was out with the throw ups. Think I caught a little food poisoning. Yuck.

Anyways, today I wanted to post a little memory that my Aunt Sandra sent me:

Another memory I have is sitting in the car with her and Debbie.  Back then in the 60’s, you could leave your kids in the car and run into the store to grab a couple of things.  I wanted to have a singing group like the Monkey’s, or the Beach Boys and I always tried to get Debbie and Barbara to sing back up for me.  They’ve told me that it drove them crazy!  I was having fun!

I thought this memory was so great because when I was in the car with my mom she always made me sing back up or harmony with her too. I think her sister rubbed off on her.

For my second memory, I wanted you all to know that my mom loved reading. Not a big surprise, I know. But when I was home schooled in middle school, we would drive up to my grandma and grandpa's house and the whole time she would tell me about the books she was reading. Now when I tell a story it goes something like this, there was this guy who liked this girl the end. I don't have the memory to remember all the names and places and what so and so was doing. But my mom, she could remember everything and she was so entertaining that I would go and read the book she told about and it just wasn't as good. She really instilled a love of literature in me and I will be forever grateful that we had so many things we liked to do together.

Thanks loni. It's nice to hear from people who have gone through this too. Helps me have perspective.
